Position: Power Electronics Engineer (Battery) Department: R&D / Engineering 🔧 Role Overview The Power Electronics Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and optimizing power electronic systems used in battery packs, battery management systems (BMS), energy storage systems (ESS), EV applications, and related power conversion circuits. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure system reliability, safety, and performance. 🛠 Key Responsibilities 1. Circuit Design & Development Design, analyze, and simulate power electronic circuits such as DC-DC converters, inverters, chargers, SMPS, and protection circuits. Develop battery-related electronics including: Battery Management System (BMS) hardware Cell balancing circuits (active/passive) Battery protection circuits 2. Battery System Engineering Work with different chemistries such as Li-ion, LFP, NMC, and Lead-acid. Select appropriate MOSFETs/IGBTs, drivers, current sensors, and protection components. Ensure compliance with thermal, electrical, and mechanical requirements. 3. Testing & Validation Perform validation tests for power stages, BMS boards, and battery packs. Conduct functional, reliability, and safety tests for high-voltage and low-voltage circuits. Debug hardware issues and implement corrective actions. 4. Simulation & Tools Use software tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, LTspice, PSpice, Altium, KiCAD, or equivalent for: Circuit simulation Schematic drafting PCB design 5. Documentation & Compliance Prepare technical documentation, design reports, test reports, and BOM. Ensure designs meet industry standards such as IEC, ISO, and automotive safety norms. 6. Cross-functional Collaboration Work with firmware and mechanical design teams for integration. Support manufacturing, quality, and after-sales teams during deployment and issue resolution. 🎓 Qualifications Education B.Tech / B.E in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Power Electronics, or related field. M.Tech preferred (optional). Experience 0–5 years (customizable based on your requirement). Experience with battery systems, BMS, or power converters is an advantage. 💼 Required Skills Strong knowledge of SMPS, DC-DC converters, MOSFET/IGBT drivers, and power semiconductor devices. Sound understanding of Li-ion battery architecture & charge/discharge characteristics. Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, test benches. PCB design experience (Altium / KiCAD / Eagle). Strong analytical and debugging skills. Ability to work on high-voltage systems safely. ✨ Preferred Skills (Good to Have) Experience in EV battery packs or ESS systems. Knowledge of CAN communication & embedded systems. Understanding of thermal design for batteries. Experience with EMI/EMC compliance. 📌 Additional Responsibilities (Optional Based on Company Need) Vendor coordination for PCB manufacturing.
