Job Title

Senior Java/AWS engineer

About your role:
At Fiserv, we are dedicated to transforming financial services technology to benefit our clients. As an Application Development Sr Professional II, you will be part of a dynamic team focused on creating solutions that make financial transactions seamless and secure. This role will involve designing, developing, and maintaining applications that align with our clients needs, utilizing the latest in technology.

What youll do:

Lead the design, development, and implementation of software applications to support Fiservs business objectives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Perform coding, testing, and debugging of applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior developers within the team.
Responsibilities listed are not intended to be all-inclusive and may be modified as necessary.

Experience youll need to have:

4+ years of experience in application development
2+ years of experience in Java, C, C#, C++, or similar programming languages
2+ years of experience in SQL databases
2+ years of experience in AWS, Azure, or GCP services
2+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
2+ years of experience with Agile methodologies
4+ years of an equivalent combination of educational background, related experience, and/or military experience

Experience that would be great to have:

We are migrating a COBOL mainframe batch application to AWS.

Extensive experience with Java programming principles and object-oriented design (+ 8 years).
Expertise in Spring Boot, Spring JDBC, and other Spring ecosystem components.
Proven experience with both microservices and batch application development.
Strong understanding of AWS cloud services and hands-on experience with Docker and Infra as a code (Terraform)
Proficiency in designing and implementing cloud solutions)
Extensive experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines using Gitlab pipelines.
In-depth knowledge of software development principles and best practices.
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities along with excellent problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
Nice to have - mainframe background in the past is helpful but not required.
