Specialist - Medicinal Chemistry

Role Overview: As a Specialist in Medicinal Chemistry based in Bengaluru, you will utilize your expertise in organic synthesis to contribute to drug discovery projects. Your main responsibilities will include: - Independently designing and synthesizing novel target molecules according to client requirements. - Demonstrating proficiency in various areas of organic chemistry such as heterocyclic chemistry, metal-catalyzed reactions, and multi-step synthesis. - Operating and troubleshooting synthetic and purification techniques including chromatographic methods and spectroscopic analysis. - Providing guidance to team members when faced with synthetic challenges. - Supervising and mentoring a small team of 3-4 chemists. - Engaging in client interactions and presenting project progress via teleconferences. - Maintaining accurate documentation in electronic/lab notebooks and preparing scientific reports and data summaries. - Adhering to Environment, Health & Safety protocols and organizational SOPs. Qualification Required: - M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry/Chemistry and Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry/Chemistry. - Preferred post-doctoral research experience.
