Special Education Needs (SEN) Educator

You will be joining the team at SASE as a Special Education Needs (SEN) Educator, where you will work with children of mixed ages and abilities in an inclusive and supportive environment. Your role will require you to provide tailored instruction, develop Individualised Development Plans (IDPs), foster an engaging classroom environment, and collaborate with colleagues, therapists, and parents to ensure holistic development and progress for the students. Your responsibilities will include supporting students across cognitive, social-emotional, and physical domains, using differentiated teaching strategies and assistive technologies effectively, and helping children build essential life skills, communication, and independence. It will be important to maintain a positive and nurturing atmosphere where every child feels valued and included, assess and monitor student progress, and communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding their child's progress and needs. To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Special Education or an equivalent qualification, experience in working with children with special educational needs, a strong understanding of inclusive education practices and individualised learning approaches, patience, empathy, and a passion for working with children of varying abilities. Additionally, you should possess strong communication and teamwork skills, and familiarity with sensory integration techniques, behaviour management strategies, and adaptive learning tools would be advantageous.
