Role & responsibilities Drafting, reviewing, approving and monitoring of policies and procedures. Collaborating with relevant departments for implementation of compliance actions. Primary Responsibilities: Implement OHSE Framework: Execute the OHSE Management System on-site in alignment with ISO 45001:2018 & ISO 14001:2015, ensuring site-wide legal and organizational compliance. Conduct Site Inspections: Carry out planned OHSE inspections, hazard identification, and site audits. Document findings and ensure timely corrective actions. Stop Work Authority: Empowered to suspend work immediately in the presence of unsafe acts, conditions, or imminent danger. Incident & Near-Miss Management: Investigate all workplace incidents and near misses. Ensure proper reporting and facilitate root cause analysis (RCA). OHSE Inductions & Training: Conduct mandatory inductions for employees and contractors and organize periodic OHSE training sessions. Toolbox Talks & Compliance Monitoring: Ensure daily toolbox meetings are held and that all workers use PPE and follow site-specific OHSE guidelines. Environmental Monitoring: Track environmental metrics such as air quality, noise levels, water use, and waste management at site level. Contractor Oversight: Evaluate contractor OHSE performance monthly, review compliance with PPE, permits etc. Engagement & Awareness Programs: Lead campaigns on accident prevention, housekeeping, and celebrations of National Safety Day, World Environment Day, etc. Promote HIRA/ EAIA/ JSA Activities: Assist in hazard identification and risk assessment planning to improve safety during specific tasks or new processes. Equipment & Vehicle Fitness: Conduct pre-deployment and periodic inspections of vehicles, machinery, and lifting equipment to ensure operational safety. Liaison with respective functions for implementing OHSE Management System. Report near miss cases, to co-ordinate for necessary action & ensure reporting to HO. Conduct OHSE Induction for all employees & workmen before deploying them on job. Monitor and report on environmental metrics, such as air quality, water usage, and waste management. Promote the use of renewable energy sources where possible and ensure energy-efficient practices are being followed. Organize awareness programs focused on environmental sustainability, such as reducing single-use plastics and promoting recycling on-site. Prepare OHSE statistical reports, ensuring that all necessary records are maintained & report to HO. Co-ordinate for conducting Project OHSE Committee Meetings. Help conduct EAIA/ HIRA/ Job Safety Analysis to ensure a safe workplace environment. Interact with contractors periodically to improve OHSE condition and awareness. Evaluate contractor monthly OHSE performance. Conduct periodic and Pre-deployment fitness inspections for Equipment and Vehicles. Conduct & co-ordinate training programs as per the internal & external training plan. Organize campaigns on environment, employee health and safety and promotional activities like accident reduction competitions, housekeeping competitions, Celebrate National Safety Day, World Environment Day etc. and ensure participation of all levels of employees. Ensure environmental monitoring for ambient air and noise levels, where applicable.
