Company: Telescopewalebhaiya – Astronomy & Stargazing Experiences Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat Position Type: Full-Time (On-site) Shift Timing: 6:00 PM – 1:00 AM (7 hours/day, evening shift) Role Overview We are seeking a dedicated Astronomy Guide & Telescope Operator who can handle both the technical operation of telescopes and the visitor engagement/storytelling aspects of our night observatory. This is a full-time position requiring passion for astronomy, strong communication skills, and technical confidence with scientific instruments. Key Responsibilities Operate and maintain professional telescopes during public stargazing sessions Locate and track celestial objects (Moon, planets, nebulae, clusters, etc.) Guide and interact with visitors, explaining astronomy concepts in simple and engaging ways Assist with equipment setup, alignment, and troubleshooting Maintain observatory logs (daily observations, equipment reports, visitor counts) Ensure visitor safety and telescope handling protocols are followed Support company events, workshops, and special celestial viewing programs Qualifications Graduate (preferably in Science/Engineering/Astronomy/Physics) OR proven experience in astronomy outreach Passionate about astronomy, with basic knowledge of constellations and night sky navigation Technical aptitude for handling telescopes and related equipment (training will be provided) Excellent communication skills in Gujarati, Hindi, and English Ability to engage audiences of all age groups through storytelling and Q&A Willingness to work night shifts (6 PM – 1 AM) Job Details Salary: ₹14,500 per month (fixed) Contract: Minimum 3 years (full-time employment) Other Terms: Mandatory NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) with the company Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat Why Join Us?
