Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee the complete operations of our aluminium extrusion manufacturing unit. The candidate will be responsible for planning, supervising, and optimizing the production process to achieve output, quality, and cost targets, while ensuring strict adherence to safety and compliance standards. Key Responsibilities Production Planning & Control Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules. Monitor extrusion press utilization, die changeovers, billet casting/handling, and downstream processes. Ensure optimum use of manpower, machinery, and materials. Operational Management Supervise end-to-end production: melting, billet casting, extrusion, aging, surface finishing, and dispatch readiness. Ensure target output and quality as per customer requirements and industry standards. Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices to reduce downtime and scrap. Quality & Compliance Coordinate with QC for maintaining product quality and adherence to ISO, BIS, and customer specifications. Monitor rejection analysis, reduce process variances, and drive corrective actions. Enforce safety protocols and environmental compliance as per statutory regulations. Team Management Lead and mentor production supervisors, operators, and technicians. Ensure workforce discipline, shift planning, and skill development. Create a culture of accountability, teamwork, and performance excellence. Reporting & Coordination Report production performance, machine efficiency, and cost metrics to management. Coordinate with maintenance, purchase, sales, and dispatch teams for seamless operations. Drive ERP/MIS-based production tracking and analytics. Qualifications & Experience Education : B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Metallurgy / Industrial / Production Engineering (preferred). Experience : 7-10 years Experience in the manufacturing industry (preferably aluminium extrusion) , with at least 3 years in a managerial role . Strong knowledge of extrusion press operation, dies & tooling, billet casting, ageing ovens, and finishing lines. Proven expertise in manpower management, production planning, and process optimization. Skills Required Strong leadership and decision-making abilities. Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and TPM practices. Familiarity with ERP systems for production management. Qualification Mandatory Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Aluminium Extrusion QC . Preferred Diploma / BE / B.Tech / ITI in Mechanical, Metallurgy, Production, Tool & Die, or equivalent. Experience with IS 733 / IS 1285 standards and alloy properties. 3. Job Summary The Quality Supervisor ensures all extruded profiles meet dimensional accuracy, mechanical properties, surface finish quality, and customer specifications . The role includes monitoring in-process quality, minimizing rejections, conducting final inspections, maintaining ISO documentation, and supervising QC inspectors across shifts. 4. Detailed Responsibilities A. In-Process Quality Control Inspect billet cutting, extrusion, quenching, puller operation, stretcher alignment, cutting, ageing, and finishing. Verify all dimensional tolerances: width, thickness, OD/ID, straightness, twist, bow, wall thickness, etc. Identify and act on extrusion defects such as die lines, pitting, hot cracks, bends, scratches, surface roughness variations, metal flow issues . Communicate immediate corrective action to production to prevent recurrence. B. Final Inspection & Dispatch Clearance Conduct final QC check before packing and dispatch. Verify hardness values (post-ageing) and mechanical property compliance. Reject non-conforming material and escalate to Production Head & Plant Head. C. Documentation & ISO Compliance Maintain inspection reports, rejection logs, calibration records, hardness test logs, and traceability documents. Ensure documentation meets ISO 9001 , customer audit requirements, and internal audit norms. Update checklists and SOPs as necessary. D. Rejection Analysis & Improvement Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring defects. Coordinate with die shop for corrective actions. Monitor defect-wise rejection trends and implement preventive actions. Achieve month-on-month rejection reduction targets. E. Team Management Supervise QC inspectors and allocate responsibilities across machines and shifts. Train team members on measurement tools, defect identification, gauges, and SOPs. Conduct weekly training and skill assessment programs. F. Customer Specification & Compliance Interpret customer drawings, tolerances, profiles, and surface finish requirements. Conduct First Article Inspection (FAI) for new dies and sample approvals. Support customer audits, plant visits, and technical reviews. G. Tool & Instrument Management Ensure periodic calibration of inspection instruments. Maintain proper storage, condition, and availability of all QC tools. H. Safety, 5S & Discipline Ensure safe quality inspection practices and strict PPE usage. Maintain 5S in QC lab, calibration room, and all inspection zones. Report unsafe conditions or non-compliance immediately. 5. Skills Required Strong knowledge of aluminium extrusion quality parameters and process flow. Job Summary The Production Incharge will oversee the end-to-end aluminium extrusion plant operations , ensuring uninterrupted production, optimum press efficiency, die life improvement, manpower productivity, and adherence to quality and safety systems. The role demands strong technical expertise in extrusion parameters, billet-to-profile conversion, die behaviour, and defect reduction. 3. Detailed Responsibilities A.
