As a Manager of Solution Engineering at Zamp, you will oversee a high-performing team dedicated to constructing intelligent agents and workflow-based automation solutions to address genuine customer challenges. Your responsibilities will revolve around the convergence of engineering, product development, and customer success to ensure the transformation of complex business requirements into scalable and production-ready agentic solutions. This role necessitates hands-on leadership where you will offer technical guidance to the team, mentor engineers, and establish standards and processes that facilitate rapid and high-quality outcomes at scale. Your key responsibilities will include leading and mentoring a team of solution engineers focused on crafting reusable agent workflows and automation logic, translating ambiguous business requirements into well-defined agent designs and delivery strategies, maintaining engineering rigor within the team in terms of code quality, modularity, testability, and observability, advocating for best practices in API integration, workflow orchestration, and scalable data management, collaborating closely with product, engineering, and customer-facing teams to prioritize and implement impactful solutions, reviewing technical choices, influencing trade-offs, and ensuring long-term maintainability, recruiting, onboarding, and nurturing engineering talent within the team, and taking ownership of the team's velocity, delivery predictability, and quality outcomes. To excel in this role, you should possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in backend or solutions engineering, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership or managerial capacity, strong problem-solving abilities with a knack for dissecting complex issues, identifying root causes, and offering practical solutions in dynamic environments, a proven track record of delivering production-quality automation, integrations, and workflows, in-depth practical knowledge of Python and PostgreSQL, as well as experience in designing multi-service systems, a solid grasp of API integration, system orchestration, and workflow modeling, the capability to strike a balance between immediate deliverables and long-term engineering sustainability and reusability, adeptness at collaborating with cross-functional teams, aligning engineering outputs with business objectives, and managing stakeholder expectations.
