Software Test Engineer (Manual)

As a Software Test Engineer at Big Rattle Technologies Private Limited, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of web and mobile applications by designing, writing test cases, and running automated tests. You will collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define test strategies, execute test plans, and contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts for web, mobile, and API applications. - Analyze business and technical requirements to create effective test plans and cases. - Collaborate with team members to define test strategies and acceptance criteria. - Prepare and maintain documentation for automation frameworks, test plans, and cases. - Perform various types of testing including manual, automated, unit, integration, functional, regression, load, and security testing. - Conduct thorough API testing to ensure functionality, reliability, performance, and security. - Identify, document, and track bugs using bug-tracking systems. - Run database queries to validate data and support backend testing. - Perform load and performance testing using tools like JMeter or LoadRunner. - Prepare reports on test cases, execution results, and defect causes. - Interact with clients and project leads to understand requirements and provide quality assurance insights. - Run VAPT scans to detect vulnerabilities and contribute to security testing efforts. - Continuously enhance test coverage, speed, and reliability of test suites and QA processes. **Required Qualifications & Skills:** - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, OR equivalent practical experience. - 1-2 years of professional experience in software quality assurance and testing. - Hands-on experience in automation testing, including designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts. - Proven experience in automated mobile app testing (iOS and Android) and API testing. - Proficiency in automation frameworks and scripting/programming languages (e.g., Selenium, Java). - Knowledge of software test design, testing methodologies, and best practices. - Familiarity with manual & automated testing, unit testing, integration testing, and bug-tracking systems. - Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. **Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Points):** - Experience with load testing tools and security testing/assessment tools. - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and performance testing concepts. - ISTQB or other relevant QA certifications.
