Software Test Engineer

Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Test Planning & Execution : Develop, implement, and execute software tests for automotive projects following ASPICE processes (SWE.5 to SWE.6). Requirements Analysis : Analyze software requirements and derive structured test cases to ensure software meets design specifications. Quality Assurance : Execute test cases, identify bugs, and work collaboratively with development teams to improve software quality. Reporting : Create and maintain test metrics, status reports, and traceability documentation to support continuous improvement. Cross-Functional Collaboration : Coordinate with software development, engineering, and other departments to support overall project goals and quality standards. Automation & Scripting : Develop and optimize test automation scripts using CAPL, Python, or other scripting languages. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Embedded Systems, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 3 years in testing automotive electronic units with a focus on automation (CAPL, Python, or similar scripting). Required Skills: Strong understanding of embedded automotive systems and testing. Proficiency in software integration and qualification testing. Experience with requirements analysis tools like DOORS or Polarion. Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN/LIN, UDS) and tools like Vector CANoe. Skilled in CAPL scripting and developing automated test scenarios. Familiarity with ASPICE processes and agile project methodologies. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Goal-oriented with an independent, diligent, and structured work ethic. Ability to work with diverse, cross-functional, and multi-regional teams. Preferred Skills: Knowledge of automotive safety standards (ISO 26262) and ISTQB certification. Familiarity with automotive development processes, including V-Model and agile methods. Experience with wireless charging (Qi standard) or USB technology applications in automotive. Proficiency in Python scripting and experience with lab equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope).
