Software Engineer - Networking

As a Networking Engineer at Cisco, you will have the opportunity to contribute your unique skills to the Cisco Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) team. This team is focused on developing intelligent networking products and platforms for a wide range of IIoT applications. Your role will involve helping to create cutting-edge industrial switching, routing, wireless, embedded, and security products, as well as industry-leading software platforms that facilitate the connection of devices, machines, and vehicles to traditional enterprise networks. As a Systems Engineer within our team, you will be instrumental in the development of products deployed across various verticals such as discrete and process manufacturing, smart cities, oil and gas, and more. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams at Cisco to design next-generation products and experience the excitement of innovation in the field. Your responsibilities as a System Test Engineer will include designing and developing tools to test the functionality of Cisco products, ensuring quality and stability from a system/solution perspective. You will create documentation for various end-to-end solutions and address customer issues related to Industrial IoT (IIoT) products. Additionally, you will collaborate with teams to review and extract test requirements from relevant documentation, enhance test efficiency, leverage Machine Learning (MI) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques for test automation, and support the expansion of knowledge within the test team. Minimum qualifications for this role include proficiency in writing quality code for automation testing, deep networking knowledge with hands-on experience on routers/switches, familiarity with scripting languages like Python, and experience in Performance and Scale testing of newer platforms and features. Preferred qualifications involve leveraging AI/ML tools for network infrastructure support and productivity improvements.
