Software Development Snr Director

Role Overview: Are you interested in working on the Storage Infrastructure team at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) As a Senior Director of Software Development, you will lead the Block Service Organization, overseeing the design, development, operation, and debugging of software programs. Your role involves providing leadership, direction, and strategy for a growing team and working towards delivering innovative, enterprise-class features to satisfy various customer workloads. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the engineering teams in supporting the software development lifecycle from development to launch and operations/support - Architect broad systems interactions and dive deep into any part of the stack and lower level system interactions - Manage medium to large-sized teams and have domain expertise in storage, distributed systems, or compute/networking - Handle operations of a cloud-deployed service and roll out cloud solutions - Establish and develop organizational capacity, mentor and develop other leaders and senior engineers, and oversee operational teams supporting products in production - Collaborate with OCI leadership, senior engineers, program managers, and product managers to develop compelling products and services - Provide guidance and constructive feedback to team members and stakeholders to raise the bar for product quality and customer experience Qualifications: - 20+ years of experience in the software industry with 10+ years in Engineering Management leading agile teams - Strong track record for hiring and retaining top-tier talent - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Exposure to operationalizing and supporting products and services used by thousands of customers simultaneously - Knowledge of C++, Java programming language, Micro-service based architectures, Distributed systems, Storage systems, and Cloud - Previous experience leading engineering teams in cloud computing, enterprise software, or fast-paced start-ups - Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix fundamentals, operating systems, databases, storage, and distributed systems fundamentals - Experience with build automation, continuous integration, and continuous deployment tools About Us: Oracle is a world leader in cloud solutions, using tomorrow's technology to tackle today's challenges.
