Summary:We are seeking a highly experienced Microcontroller Lead to architect and lead the development of embedded software and hardware platforms based on automotive-grade microcontrollers. The ideal candidate will drive system design, integration, and validation across ECUs for body control, powertrain, chassis, and safety systems, ensuring compliance with automotive standards and performance requirements. The role requires strong technical depth in AUTOSAR, RTOS, and low-level MCU software, with the ability to guide engineers through architecture, coding, debugging, and integration.Roles & Responsibilities:Key Responsibilities:Lead the architecture, design, and development of microcontroller-based embedded systems for automotive ECUs.Define software and hardware interfaces, memory maps, and peripheral configurations.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sensors, actuators, and communication protocols.Drive compliance with ISO 26262 (functional safety), ASPICE, and cybersecurity standards (ISO 21434).Oversee firmware development including bootloaders, drivers, and diagnostics.Manage microcontroller selection, configuration, and performance optimization.Interface with Tier-1 suppliers, silicon vendors, and OEMs to align platform requirements.Mentor and guide embedded engineers across multiple vehicle programs.Own the microcontroller platform roadmap and contribute to ECU strategy.Lead Base SW design, coding, and integration on MCU platforms.Configure, integrate, and debug AUTOSAR Classic/Adaptive modules (MCAL, BSW stack).Develop and optimize RTOS-based systems ensuring deterministic real-time performance.Implement and review low-level drivers, bootloaders, diagnostics, and safety mechanisms.Perform hands-on debugging using emulators, debuggers, trace tools, and oscilloscopes.Collaborate with hardware and systems engineers for board bring-up and HW/SW validation.Ensure compliance with ISO 26262, ASPICE, and automotive cybersecurity requirements.Mentor team members in problem-solving, debugging, and performance optimization.Work closely with cross-functional teams across globe Professional & Technical
Skills:
812 years embedded software experience, with at least 3 years in a technical lead capacity.Strong expertise in AUTOSAR Classic (MCAL, BSW configuration, integration); knowledge of Adaptive AUTOSAR is a plus.Strong experience in embedded C/C++ development for automotive-grade microcontrollers (e.g., Infineon, NXP, Renesas, STMicroelectronics).Deep understanding of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet).Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS), bare-metal programming, and low-level debugging.Familiarity with functional safety concepts and tools (e.g., FMEA, fault injection).Knowledge of calibration, diagnostics (UDS), and flash bootloaders.Deep hands-on experience with RTOS (OSEK, FreeRTOS, QNX, or similar).Hands-on experience with RTOS-based software and microcontroller architectures (Infineon, NXP, Renesas, etc.).Strong knowledge of microcontroller families (Infineon Aurix, NXP S32, Renesas RH850, TI Hercules, etc.).Familiarity with testing frameworks and HIL systems.Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a cross functional team.Good problem-solving and analytical skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
