Software Development Engineer - C++/EDA

Role Overview: As a Software Development Engineer at AMD, your main responsibility will be to enhance the performance of key applications and benchmarks. You will collaborate with a team of industry specialists and work with cutting-edge hardware and software technology. Specifically, you will be contributing to the "Viado Design Suite" Software Development team, which focuses on designing and implementing hardware on FPGAs and adaptive SoCs. This role will allow you to delve into various aspects of software engineering and product development. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with Software architecture specialists to enhance Software tools - Translate requirements into practical solutions by working closely with product managers, EDA domain experts, QA, and customer engineering - Design and implement core algorithms, data models, and modules across frontend/backend as required - Take ownership of feature delivery from specification to release, including integration and testing - Debug and resolve existing issues while exploring more efficient solutions Qualification Required: - Minimum 4+ years of experience with a strong object-oriented programming background, preferably in C/C++ - Proficiency in writing high-quality code with meticulous attention to detail - Familiarity with modern concurrent programming, threading APIs, and software development processes - Experience with debuggers, source code control systems (e.g., GitHub), and profilers is advantageous - Knowledge and experience with FPGA and EDA tools is a plus - Effective communication, problem-solving skills, and familiarity with Linux and modern software development tools and techniques - Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline In addition, you will benefit from AMD benefits which are described in detail in the AMD benefits at a glance information provided by the company.,
