Social Studies Teacher

Position Overview: As a 9th-10th Grade Social Studies Teacher at our coaching institute, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in social studies to students preparing for their board examinations and helping them develop a strong foundation in the subject. You will play a crucial role in their academic growth and overall success.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development:Develop and update lesson plans, teaching materials, and resources aligned with the curriculum for 9th and 10th-grade social studies.
Ensure that the curriculum covers relevant topics, including history, geography, civics, and economics, as per the syllabus and board guidelines.

Classroom Instruction:Deliver engaging and interactive lessons to students, making use of various teaching methods and technologies to facilitate understanding.
Foster critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a passion for social studies among students.Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and active learning.

Assessment and Evaluation:Design and administer regular assessments, quizzes, and exams to evaluate student progress and identify areas of improvement.
Provide constructive feedback to students and parents on their performance and offer guidance on how to enhance their skills.

Individualized Support:Offer additional help to struggling students through one-on-one tutoring sessions or small group interventions.
Monitor and track the academic progress of each student and devise strategies to address their specific needs.

Classroom Management:Maintain discipline and a conducive learning atmosphere in the classroom.
Set clear expectations for behavior and academic performance and enforce classroom rules consistently.

Professional Development:Stay updated on the latest educational trends, teaching methodologies, and curriculum changes.
Attend workshops, seminars, and training sessions to enhance your teaching skills.

Parent-Teacher Communication:Establish effective communication with parents and guardians to keep them informed about their child's progress and any concerns.
Conduct parent-teacher meetings as necessary to discuss student performance and address parental queries.

Administrative Tasks:Keep accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance data.
Participate in staff meetings, curriculum planning, and school events as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of social studies subjects (history, geography, civics, economics).
• Teaching certification is preferred.
• Previous teaching experience, especially at the 9th and 10th-grade levels.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to cater to the needs of individual students.
• Proficiency in using educational technology and resources for teaching.
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for education.
