As a part of our digital team, you will be the voice of www.kannadaprabha.com across platforms, engaging with our audience, sharing timely updates, and crafting compelling content that resonates with Kannada-speaking readers, regional audiences, students, educators, and civic-minded communities.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Strategy & Management:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with the editorial goals.
• Curate, create, and schedule engaging content across all social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter (X), Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
• Collaborate with the editorial team to repurpose and promote news articles, opinion pieces, interviews, features, and multimedia content relevant to Karnatakas current affairs, politics, education, careers, culture.

Audience Engagement:

• Monitor social media channels for trending topics, breaking news, and reader engagement.
• Respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner.
• Foster a community around Kannada Prabhas social media presence, encouraging reader interaction, participation in polls, discussions, and feedback.

Analytics & Reporting:

• Track and analyze key social media metrics, including engagement rates, follower growth, and traffic to the website.
• Prepare regular reports on social media performance and provide actionable insights to the editorial team.
• Use data-driven approaches to optimize content and posting strategies.

Brand Voice & Compliance:

• Maintain a consistent brand voice across all social media platforms.
• Ensure all content is in compliance with journalistic standards and ethical guidelines.
• Stay updated on the latest social media policies and platform changes.

Collaboration & Innovation:

• Work closely with the design and video teams to produce high-quality visuals and multimedia content for social media.
• Explore and implement new tools and technologies to enhance Kannada Prabhas social media presence.
• Lead social media campaigns around special events, regional features, youth initiatives, interviews, or innovations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Marketing, or a related field.
• 35 years of experience in social media management, preferably within the news/media or education industry.
• Strong writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Proficiency in social media management tools like Hootsuite, Buffer, or Sprout Social.
• Knowledge of SEO best practices and web traffic metrics.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics, etc.
• Creative thinking with a strong sense of newsworthiness and timing.

Preferred Skills:

• Fluency in Kannada is a must.
• Experience in digital journalism and content creation.
• Video editing and graphic design skills.
• Understanding of Karnatakas media and educational landscape, and youth audience preferences.
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of other Indian languages is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
