Position: Tool Room Engineer Department: Tool Room / Maintenance Location: Nighoje Chakan, Pune Reporting To: Plant Head / Maintenance Manager Job Description We are looking for a highly skilled Tool Room Engineer / Supervisor to lead and manage the tool room team. The role involves press tool maintenance, modifications, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement to ensure smooth production and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Lead & supervise the tool room team for press tool maintenance, modifications, and improvements. Plan & schedule preventive, predictive & breakdown maintenance of press tools (progressive, compound, blanking, forming). Ensure minimum downtime of production tools through effective troubleshooting & root cause analysis. Review & approve tool designs, modifications & engineering changes. Drive continuous improvements in tool life, cycle time & product quality. Monitor utilization of tool room machines (milling, grinding, EDM, wire-cut, lathe, etc.). Maintain tool history records, calibration & documentation as per ISO/IATF requirements. Train & develop junior technicians in tool maintenance practices. Ensure compliance with safety standards, 5S & lean manufacturing practices. Coordinate with production, quality & design teams for tool performance and improvement initiatives. Required Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of press tool design, manufacturing & maintenance . Expertise in tool room machines and modern maintenance practices. Ability to analyze tool failures & implement permanent corrective actions. Proven experience in team leadership & manpower management . Knowledge of CAD/CAM software (AutoCAD, UG, Catia, etc.) preferred. Familiarity with ISO 9001 & IATF 16949 systems . Qualification & Experience Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Tool & Die / Mechanical Engineering. Experience: 7-12 years in press tool maintenance, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory role. Key Attributes Strong leadership & team management skills. Decision-making ability under pressure.
