Position Summary We are seeking a skilled Solar Project Manager – Electrical to lead the planning and execution of the electrical aspects of solar energy installations, including residential, commercial, and utility-scale projects. This role requires deep knowledge of electrical systems, NEC compliance, interconnection standards, and PV system design. The successful candidate will manage electrical project phases from engineering through commissioning while ensuring adherence to safety, budget, and schedule goals. Role Description Manage and oversee the electrical design, permitting, installation, and commissioning of solar PV systems. Collaborate with engineering teams to review and approve electrical designs, including single-line diagrams, wire schedules, and load calculations. Ensure all electrical work complies with applicable codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA, local AHJ requirements). Coordinate with utilities for interconnection applications, approvals, and witness testing. Supervise field teams, subcontractors, and electricians to ensure high-quality electrical installations. Conduct or oversee site visits, inspections, and quality assurance checks. Maintain and track project timelines, budgets, materials, and electrical installation milestones. Manage procurement of electrical equipment such as inverters, transformers, switchgear, panels, and wiring. Troubleshoot and resolve on-site technical issues related to electrical systems. Maintain accurate documentation, including as-built drawings, test reports, and commissioning packages. Experience 5-15 years of experience in electrical project management within the solar or energy sector. Hands-on experience with PV system design, wiring, and interconnection at low and medium voltage levels. Skills Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics. Strong understanding of PV system components, energy storage systems, and grid-tied systems. Familiarity with software tools like AutoCAD, Helioscope, PVsyst, and electrical modeling software. Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills. Certifications (Preferred) NABCEP PV Installation Professional PMP (Project Management Professional) OSHA 30 certification Work Environment Field and office-based role with regular travel to project sites.
