As a Specialist Software Engineer in the R&D team at Vanderlande, you will play a crucial role in creating designs to meet requirements, ensuring platform modularization, reusability, and technical feasibility. Your responsibilities will include defining technical requirements, developing in-line with requirements and architecture, supporting engineers on-site, analyzing risks, solving problems, and providing recommendations for improvements. With your extensive experience, you will actively contribute to the team effort in various development stages. To qualify for this role, you should possess a BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech degree in any discipline from a recognized institution, along with at least 12-15 years of relevant experience in embedded or firmware development. Your expertise should include 10+ years of hands-on experience in software development using C/C++ on Linux. Additionally, knowledge of object-oriented design, industrial automation using Siemens IPC, and familiarity with industrial networks like OPC UA, OPC DA, Profinet, and Profibus would be advantageous. Collaboration with the global stream architect, product owner, and scrum master is essential in this role. You should also demonstrate proficiency in code review, adherence to coding guidelines, documentation, and optimization. Experience with soft and/or hard real-time operating systems, particularly Linux, is a must. Familiarity with software configuration management, tools such as Bitbucket, Jira, and Bamboo, as well as Agile methodologies, will be beneficial. Your personal profile should reflect an agile mindset, teamwork, and essential soft skills required for an R&D position, such as taking initiative, creativity, cooperation, learning ability, advising, systemic thinking, analyzing, and listening.
