Summary: Responsible for ensuring the dimensional accuracy and quality of manufactured products by utilizing portable Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to inspect parts and gauges per engineering specifications and customer requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Set up and operate fixed and portable CMM equipment and related computer systems. Read and interpret product and gauge drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), with intermediate proficiency. Develop and implement measurement plans for parts of varying complexity using CMM software, including program creation and dimension calculations. Create and execute calibration plans for a select range of gauges, ensuring compliance with gauge specifications and accurate measurement of parts. Conduct, store, and retrieve dimensional inspections of parts and gauges using fixed and portable CMM systems. Analyze inspection data to determine compliance with customer specifications and initiate corrective actions when deviations are identified. Maintain a strong awareness of customer requirements to ensure consistent product quality and compliance. Clearly communicate inspection results to operators, quality engineers, process engineers, and customer representatives.
