Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop sheet metal components and assemblies with a focus on deep drawing applications, using CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA.
Create detailed engineering drawings, including GD&T annotations, tolerances, and
specifications for deep-drawn parts.
Design and optimize tooling (dies, presses) specific to deep drawing processes to
ensure dimensional accuracy and repeatability.
Conduct feasibility studies, material selection, and cost analysis for sheet metal deep
drawing projects.
Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to validate designs, troubleshoot
process issues, and implement continuous improvements.
Perform simulations and analyses (e.g., FEA, material flow) to predict formability,
springback, and potential defects in deep-drawn parts.
Oversee prototype development, testing, and validation phases to ensure product and
tooling performance.
Ensure all designs comply with relevant safety, quality, and industry standards.
Document design iterations, maintain version control, and archive project files.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers working on
sheet metal projects.
Stay current with emerging trends, materials, and technologies in sheet metal
forming and deep drawing.
Assist in project planning, estimating timelines, and reporting progress to
management.
