Senior/Staff Engineer - SSD Validation

Role Overview: As an SSD Firmware Validation Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for defining test plans/design, test cases, and developing test scripts to validate firmware for Enterprise and Datacenter class NVMe SSD products. You will demonstrate a high degree of skills in understanding one or more areas of firmware such as Front End, Back end/Media management, FTL, or Security. Collaboration with firmware development teams to find defects, validate fixes, and create grey and Whitebox tests will be essential. Effective communication of status, issues, concerns, and strategies of programs and projects will be part of your role. Key Responsibilities: - Define Test Plan/Design, test cases, and develop Test Scripts for firmware validation. - Understand and work on areas of firmware including Front End, Back end/Media management, FTL, or Security. - Competency in NVMe/PCIe specifications, NVMe Cloud SSD Specifications, and customer specific requirements. - Collaborate with firmware development teams throughout the product lifecycle. - Communicate status, issues, concerns, and strategies effectively. - Deal with ambiguity, operate with little direction, and meet defined goals. - Collaborate with others to achieve goals and task completion. - Review, track, and document test results and sightings. - Drive issues to closure by interfacing/collaborating with other product development teams. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering with 5+ years of experience in SSD Firmware Validation. - Strong understanding of Whitebox and grey box test methods for Enterprise/Datacenter SSD Firmware. - Hands-on experience in debugging NVMe Protocol issues using Lecroy/JDSU analyzers. - Good knowledge of Linux operating system debugging and Coding in Python. - Effective oral and written communication skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. - Ability to work well with others and collaborate effectively in a team environment. - Expert planning and tracking skills, capable of managing multiple projects effectively.
