Senior Test Engineer

Job Summary We are looking for a Senior Test Engineer with strong experience in India domestic payment systems, specifically IPP (Immediate Payment Platform), IPI (Interbank Payment Interface), and NPSS (National Payment System). The role requires deep understanding of payment message flows, settlement cycles, exception handling, and hands-on expertise in manual and automation testing of high-availability banking systems. Key Responsibilities Functional & Domain Testing Analyze and validate end-to-end payment flows for IPP, IPI, and NPSS transactions. Perform testing for credit transfers, returns, reversals, rejects, timeouts, and settlement processes. Validate message formats, field-level rules, and schema compliance as per NPSS specifications. Test clearing and settlement cycles, reconciliation, and liquidity management scenarios. Ensure compliance with regulatory, RBI, and NPCI guidelines. Test Design & Execution Create detailed test scenarios, test cases, and test data covering functional, negative, and boundary cases. Execute system, integration, regression, and UAT support testing. Perform end-to-end testing involving core banking systems, payment hubs, and external clearing systems. Defect Management & Quality Assurance Log, track, and manage defects using tools like JIRA/ALM. Perform root cause analysis and collaborate with development teams for issue resolution. Ensure quality gates are met before production releases. Required Skills & Experience Testing Skills 6–8 years of experience in banking/payment systems testing. Expertise in functional, integration, system, and regression testing. Experience in API testing and backend validation. Good understanding of STLC, defect life cycle, and testing methodologies.
