Senior SQL Developer

As a SQL Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing SQL databases, tables, views, and stored procedures to meet business requirements and performance goals. Your role involves writing efficient and high-performing SQL queries to retrieve, manipulate, and analyze data. It will be your duty to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security through regular monitoring, backups, and data cleansing activities. You will play a key role in identifying and resolving database performance bottlenecks by optimizing queries and database configurations. Investigating and resolving database-related issues, such as errors, connectivity problems, and data inconsistencies, will also be part of your responsibilities. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Data Analysts, Software Developers, and Business Analysts, is essential to support data-driven decision-making. Maintaining comprehensive documentation of database schemas, processes, and procedures is crucial in this role. You will be required to implement and maintain security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with data protection regulations. Additionally, you will assist in planning and executing database upgrades and migrations. To excel in this role, you should have relevant work experience as a SQL Developer or in a similar role. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) is preferred. Proficiency in SQL, including T-SQL for Microsoft SQL Server or PL/SQL for Oracle, is necessary. Strong knowledge of database design principles, normalization, and indexing is required, along with experience in database performance tuning and optimization techniques. Familiarity with data modeling tools and techniques, as well as an understanding of data warehousing concepts, will be advantageous. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, strong communication, and teamwork abilities are essential for success in this role. You should be able to work independently, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and hold certifications in database management (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) as a plus.
