Job Description

As a Software Engineer at Data Center Business Unit in Cisco, you will have the opportunity to work within the Storage Area Networking (SAN) team, focusing on developing Cisco MDS 9000 Multilayer Directors and Fabric Switches software. This team is known for its technical expertise in SAN platform, Optics, Fibre Channel protocols, NVMe, and Cisco Nexus OS, providing innovative solutions to meet market demands. You will collaborate closely with SAN Product Marketing, TMEs, TAC, and Escalation teams. Key Responsibilities: - Develop products deployed by top-tier service providers globally - Collaborate with a vibrant technical community to learn from experts and drive personal growth - Participate in the entire product development and integration process Minimum Qualifications: - BE/BTech in EE/CS with 8-11 years of experience - Proficiency in C programming and debugging - Solid understanding of Linux fundamentals and kernel debugging - Experience in networking technologies such as Ethernet, TCP/IP, FC/FCOE Protocols & HW switching/routing Platforms - Ability to implement RFC/IEEE/T11 standards and work on design aspects with Tech Leads - Manage customer escalations and possess end-to-end responsibility for component ownership areas Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in storage networking domain and Python UT automation skills - Knowledge of different virtualization environments - Experience in Board bring up, Driver development, etc. At Cisco, you will be part of a company that has been innovating fearlessly for 40 years, revolutionizing how data and infrastructure connect and protect organizations in the AI era and beyond.
