As a Senior Mainframe Developer at CGI, your role involves developing, maintaining, and supporting mainframe applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, provide solutions, and ensure optimized performance. Additionally, you will participate in code reviews, debug technical issues, create documentation, and guide junior developers. Key Responsibilities: - Develop, maintain, and support mainframe applications - Ensure optimized performance of applications - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide solutions - Participate in code reviews and maintain code quality - Debug and resolve technical issues - Create technical documentation - Provide guidance to junior developers - Drive technology solution development across the SDLC - Design highly scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant systems - Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions - Attend stand-up meetings and provide updates - Support technical issues, escalations, and deployments - Document operational tasks and procedures - Fix faults and restore operability as needed Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field with at least 3 years of experience - 6 to 9 years of software development experience in mainframe languages (COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM) - Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM - Familiarity with Assembler and EZtrieve - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills - Excellent communication skills - Ability to propose solutions for complex problems - Experience with mainframe debugging tools - Strong technical knowledge As an integral part of the CGI team, you will experience a collaborative environment that values ownership, teamwork, respect, and belonging.
