Senior Software Engineer - Laravel

Role Overview: You are a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in modern PHP, responsible for developing and maintaining robust, scalable, and high-performance SaaS solutions for the freight and logistics industry. You will play a key role in shaping the technology stack, system design, contributing to project success, and mentoring fellow engineers. Working on new projects, upgrading existing ones, and exploring machine learning and large language models are part of your exciting responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain Laravel monolith API applications and microservices - Write modern, clean, efficient, and well-documented code following coding standards and best practices - Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize software applications for optimal performance - Lead and mentor junior developers, promoting a collaborative environment - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features - Build secure, scalable, and performant services - Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in PHP development Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience - Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer focusing on PHP development - Expertise in PHP with strong experience in Symfony or Laravel frameworks - Solid understanding of OOP, dependency injection, and IoC containers - Experience with database technologies like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL DBs - Knowledge of software development best practices, including SOLID principles, design patterns, and unit testing - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills - Ability to design and build secure, scalable, performant services - Experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure - Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker, Kubernetes (nice to have) - Experience optimizing MySQL queries and database design (nice to have) - Knowledge of RESTful API development - Understanding of continuous integration and deployment processes - Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus Additional Company Details: DAT is an award-winning employer known for innovation in transportation supply chain logistics for 45 years.
