Senior Software Engineer-II (PHP)

Role Overview: As a Senior Software Engineer II (PHP) at our company, you will be responsible for designing and developing scalable backend services and APIs for our form-building products. You will own features end-to-end, from architecture planning to implementation, deployment, and monitoring. Additionally, you will be modernizing legacy PHP systems, ensuring smooth transitions through version changes and dependency upgrades, and developing Python-based microservices to integrate them with existing PHP applications. Working closely with product and frontend teams, you will contribute to building seamless and high-performing user experiences. Your role will also involve improving CI/CD pipelines to enhance deployment and operational workflows, as well as mentoring and guiding engineers on best practices and contributing to the overall architecture of our platform. Key Responsibilities: - Design and develop scalable backend services and APIs - Own features end-to-end, from architecture planning to deployment - Modernize legacy PHP systems and ensure smooth transitions - Develop Python-based microservices and integrate them with existing PHP applications - Optimize database performance and efficiency of queries and storage mechanisms - Collaborate with product and frontend teams to build high-performing user experiences - Improve CI/CD pipelines for deployment and operational workflows - Mentor and guide engineers on best practices Qualifications Required: - 8+ years of professional experience in backend development, specializing in PHP and Python - Strong expertise in modernizing and maintaining PHP applications, including WordPress-based and standalone web applications - Experience with PHP/Python frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, Codeigniter, Flask, FastAPI, Django - Proficiency in RESTful API design and working with API integrations - Solid experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL, including query optimization and performance tuning - Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for scalable application deployments - Experience implementing testing frameworks for backend services like PHPUnit, PyTest, etc. - Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot legacy systems - Interest in collaborating across teams, mentoring junior engineers, and driving technical excellence,
