Senior Software Engineer, Database Development

The ideal candidate for this role will be proficient in database development, with a focus on Reporting and Analytics. You should be an expert in MS SQL Server and Azure SQL, with a strong background in Power BI development and data modeling for Power BI. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, managing, and enhancing databases to meet feature requirements while ensuring stability, reliability, and performance. You must possess the ability to optimize SQL queries, in-application SQL statements, and establish best practices. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and knowledge of Azure apps is essential. Advanced skills in Power BI data modeling and optimization are required, including designing complex data models, optimizing reporting queries, and structuring databases to support efficient reporting and analytics workflows. Experience in integrating database solutions with modern BI tools like Power BI and Azure Synapse Analytics to enable actionable insights and enterprise-level dashboards is a plus. Knowledge of DAX queries, reports development, and Power BI infrastructure management is beneficial. Database administrator skills would be an added advantage. As a key member of the team, you should have excellent communication skills and be a lateral thinker when faced with complex performance or production issues. You must understand complex business problems and implement product features that are secure, scalable, robust, and easy to maintain. Taking full ownership of product features, providing bug fixes, writing tests, and tooling are important aspects of the role. Supporting the Product Engineering Team with database development, analytics requirements, fine-tuning, and deployments for customers is a critical part of the job. Collaborating with application developers to implement database design, reviewing developers" work, upgrading and improving application schema and data upgrades are also part of the responsibilities. Proactively making recommendations for system improvements, ensuring database optimization, integrity, consistency, security, and privacy are essential. You should have out-of-the-box thinking skills for optimizing work and providing best-in-class solutions for databases and analytics.
