Role Overview: Agoda is looking for a skilled and diverse team member to join the Data Core Apps Team. As part of this team, you will play a critical role in improving scalability, stability, accuracy, speed, and efficiency of existing data systems. You will have the opportunity to design, build, test, and deploy new libraries, frameworks, or full systems while maintaining high standards of testing and code quality. Additionally, you will work closely with experienced engineers and product owners to automate large-scale data management and analysis tasks. Key Responsibilities: - Be comfortable navigating the technology stack including Scala, Spark, Python, Hadoop, Kubeflow, SQL, S3, etc. - Enhance the scalability, stability, accuracy, speed, and efficiency of existing data systems - Design, build, test, and deploy new libraries, frameworks, or full systems while adhering to high standards of testing and code quality - Collaborate with experienced engineers and product owners to automate large-scale data management and analysis tasks Qualifications Required: - 4+ years of experience in software and data engineering - Expert level understanding of Apache Spark and JVM, with proficiency in either Java or Scala - Experience in debugging and reasoning about production issues is desirable - Good understanding of data architecture principles - Familiarity with Big Data technologies/tools and SQL - Strong analytical problem-solving capabilities and experience - Systems administration skills in Linux Additional Details (if present): The Data department at Agoda oversees all data-related requirements to enable and increase the use of data within the company.
