Job Description

As a Software Engineer at Fanatics, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects related to data platforms and privacy compliance. You will play a crucial role in designing and implementing components of the consent management framework, building privacy compliance reporting features, and contributing to the data certification framework. Additionally, you will work on developing data lineage tracking capabilities and maintaining APIs for integrating data quality, privacy, and governance tools. Your responsibilities will also include implementing data classification and privacy-preserving transformation pipelines, collaborating with cross-functional teams, participating in code reviews, and mentoring junior engineers on data best practices. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design and implement components of the consent management framework - Build privacy compliance reporting and data retention management features - Contribute to the data certification framework with configurable data quality validation rules - Help develop data lineage tracking capabilities with column-level granularity for sensitive data - Build and maintain APIs for integrating data quality, privacy, and governance tools - Implement data classification and privacy-preserving transformation pipelines - Work cross-functionally with data engineering, analytics, and business teams - Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers on data best practices **Qualifications:** - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field - 5+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years focused on data platforms - Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, Java, or Scala - Experience working with microservices and data processing frameworks (Apache Spark, Airflow, etc.) - Familiarity with cloud platforms and their data services, preferably AWS - Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform) and containerization (Docker) - Understanding of data modeling and database design principles - Knowledge of data governance concepts and basic understanding of regulatory requirements (GDPR, CCPA) - AWS Certification is a plus (but not required) In addition to the above responsibilities and qualifications, Fanatics is a leading global digital sports platform that aims to ignite the passions of sports fans worldwide.
