Senior Software Engineer, Data Ingestion

As a Senior Software Engineer working on data ingestion for SingleStore, you will play a crucial role in revolutionizing real-time technology for businesses. Celebrating wins together is also an important part of our culture, whether it's at a local spot or exploring the city. **Key Responsibilities:** - Work on small, collaborative teams to drive the company forward - Build systems software in a rapid production environment with a small team - Enhance the performance of SingleStore clusters and write new C++ code for the query optimizer - Develop and deploy brand new and existing projects into production with each release - Write and test software, gaining a deep understanding of the product and business **Qualifications Required:** - 5+ years of experience - B.S. Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline - Deep understanding of Computer Science fundamentals - Strong system programming skills - Proficiency in C/C++ / Java programming on Linux - Experience with data ingestion from distributed sources like Apache Kafka - Familiarity with data file formats such as Avro, Parquet, JSON, CSV, and others - Understanding of Linux system programming concepts - Knowledge of multithreading, memory management, and performance optimization in large-scale systems - Additional experience with Python and SQL - Passion for building highly reliable software - Firm grasp of algorithms and data structures - Experience building databases and knowledge of DB internals is a plus SingleStore delivers a cloud-native database that powers data-intensive applications with speed and scale.
