Job Title: Senior Development Engineer Location : Madurai Department : Senior Software Development Experience : 48 years Education : Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field (Master’s preferred) Job Summary As a Senior Development Engineer , you will be responsible for end-to-end software development including requirement analysis, solution design, coding, debugging, and deployment. You will contribute independently under broad guidance, applying sound judgment and expertise to resolve complex technical issues and deliver high-quality features or fixes that align with business goals. Scope & Impact Work on complex issues requiring deep analysis and evaluation. Use independent judgment to determine optimal methods and techniques. Network with cross-functional teams to resolve issues creatively and effectively. Key Responsibilities Analyze customer-reported bugs and prepare regression impact assessments . Design and implement both high-level and low-level architecture . Develop database, GUI, and web-based applications and tools. Exhibit deep understanding of core product technologies and modules. Write and maintain clean, optimized COBOL code and adhere to coding standards. Coordinate with customers and global teams for requirement clarification and delivery alignment. Apply unit testing and version control to ensure product stability and quality. Technical Skills (Must-Have) COBOL development experience ISAM file management Eclipse IDE for development Version control systems: Git, SVN SDLC methodologies: Agile, Waterfall Unit testing frameworks Nice-to-Have Skills Java / JavaScript / SQL / ASP Unix/Linux environment Android App Development Functional knowledge of ERP modules (Warehouse, Inventory, Sales Order, Purchase Order, Financial Ledgers) Analytical & Functional Skills Impact analysis and debugging Technical requirement translation Report generation and data analysis Experience in ERP/Inventory systems Soft Skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Detail-oriented with a focus on code quality Proactive and self-motivated Effective time and task management Team player with a global mindset
