Position: Snowflake Administrator

Fulltime | Remote | Reporting to Cloud Platform Engineering

Role Overview;

Snowflake Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

Snowflake Administration

• Manage and maintain Snowflake SaaS (users, roles, integrations, data sharing).
• Monitor performance; tune workloads for efficiency & cost savings.
• Administer SnowSQL, Snowpipe, Tasks, Streams, and resource monitors.
• Oversee ingestion, transformations, and warehouse management.
• Configure and manage SSO + IAM on AWS.

Security, Governance & Compliance

• Implement best practices for access control, encryption, masking, audit logs.
• Define governance policies for data privacy & secure sharing.
• Work with IT/InfoSec on compliance alignment.

Integrations & Automation

• Maintain integrations with Prefect, dbt, Python workflows.
• Automate admin tasks: provisioning, monitoring, warehouse scaling.
• Ensure smooth operations for data engineers & analysts.

Cost Optimization

• Track Snowflake credits, usage patterns, warehouse sizing.
• Optimize performance, caching, and compute/storage spend.
• Provide reporting on consumption efficiencies.

Development & Support

• Support SQL development, schema design & performance tuning.
• Troubleshoot Snowflake issues in data pipelines.
• Contribute to architecture improvements and new Snowflake features.

Qualifications

Required:

• Strong industry experience in Snowflake admin + engineering.
• Expertise in SnowSQL, Snowpipe, Tasks, Streams, RBAC, resource monitors.
• AWS experience (IAM, S3, Glue); Snowflake via AWS Marketplace.
• SQL + Python + dbt proficiency.
• Experience with SSO & identity management.
• Familiarity with Prefect/Airflow or similar orchestrators.
• Strong understanding of governance, security & cost optimization.

Preferred:

• CI/CD for data pipelines.
• Broader AWS integration experience.
• SnowPro Core/Advanced certification.
