Senior Python Automation Engineer

You will be joining Sony India Software Centre Private Limited (SISCPL) as a Senior Python Automation Engineer. Your main responsibility will be to develop automated test scripts and lead technically when required. You should possess strong programming skills in object-oriented Python, along with excellent debugging abilities to troubleshoot complex issues effectively. Additionally, you must have experience in web application automation using tools like Selenium, as well as knowledge of Python and standard test frameworks such as pytest and unittest. Understanding different testing methodologies and the software development life cycle, including release and deployment processes, will be crucial. As a Senior Python Automation Engineer, you will work with various testing tools, version control systems like Git, test management software, bug tracking tools, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins. Designing and implementing end-to-end automation frameworks for application testing and having a solid grasp of QA fundamentals and concepts are also essential. In terms of behavioral skills, you should be able to provide technical solutions, lead a small automation team, communicate effectively with stakeholders across product development, and demonstrate strong analytical and logical thinking skills. You must be proactive in overcoming challenges, self-driven with a sense of ownership, a good team player, and capable of contributing new ideas. Desirable skills include knowledge of JavaScript or Java and familiarity with tools like Dockers and virtual environments. Your key responsibilities will involve analyzing requirements, designing and implementing automation tests, executing tests, analyzing failures, reporting results, and maintaining test scripts. You will also be responsible for bug triaging, taking ownership of software from a QA perspective, understanding products/applications deeply, resolving dependencies, and driving continuous improvement activities.
