Senior / Principal Software Development Engineer - SaaS Continuity Engineering

As the Principal Software Development Engineer at Oracle SaaS Continuity Engineering team, your primary role will involve designing and building systems and services to ensure industry-leading availability and performance for Oracle's SaaS services. Your responsibilities will include architecting high-availability and service continuity solutions across infrastructure, database, platform, and application services, as well as developing innovative engineering solutions to maintain uninterrupted service delivery to customers during incidents, both small and large-scale. You will contribute to building next-gen service continuity solutions in a fast-paced and innovative environment, requiring the development of services that operate at scale. Your qualifications should include a BS/MS in Computer Science or related fields, along with a minimum of 8 years of software engineering experience in a distributed cloud environment. You should have hands-on experience in developing and operating highly available and large-scale services, expertise in Java, C++, or similar object-oriented languages, familiarity with containers and cloud-native components, proficiency in scripting languages for automation development, and experience in building resilient and fault-tolerant systems. Preferred qualifications for this role include hands-on experience in developing services on public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP, or Oracle, understanding of cloud infrastructure services, regions, and multi-AD designs, and expertise in building CI/CD pipelines with robust testing and deployment capabilities. As a member of the SaaS Continuity Engineering team, your responsibilities will encompass continuity engineering tooling, design of resiliency features for the SaaS platform, development of highly available and scalable services, improvement of the availability, scalability, and reliability of SaaS infrastructure implementations, operation of high-scale services, and driving the tactical execution of features and projects while owning feature design.
