Primary responsibilities of the Database Administrator include supporting database operations including but not limited to performance monitoring, query optimization, code deployments, access management, and database analysis. The candidate will be responsible for operating in Oracle, Exadata, Informix, and SQL Server platforms and supporting database re-platforming efforts. They will be responsible for creating database objects, investigating performance issues, and monitoring data retention. They will work closely with data architects, data analysts, and database owners to support both short-term work requests and long-term strategy implementation. The candidate must have strong technical and communication skills coupled with the ability to convey their findings and recommendations to large groups.
Support ongoing efforts and provide technical support for multiple database re-platforming efforts to Exadata.
Optimization and tuning of SQL queries and indexes in SQL Server and Oracle Exadata databases.
Monitoring of the database performance which includes, but not limited to, memory usage, proper backups, active sessions, long-running queries, tablespace configuration, and space allocations.
Coordinate with data architects and analysts on the building of schemas, tables (including partitioning), functions, views, stored procedures, and roles.
Coordination with the automation team for the scheduling of jobs to be executed on multiple databases.
Provide DBA supervision and Oracle best practices guidance for custom application development and routine database administration efforts.
8+ years of physical DBA experience, including experience across Oracle, SQL Server, Exadata.
Extensive working knowledge of all aspects of Database Data Movement and Processing.
Working experience in Oracle 12c/Oracle 19c/Exadata added capabilities and functionality.
Strong programming/development skills using PL/SQL (package, procedures, functions, triggers) a plus.
Proficient in performance tuning (PL/SQL) using SQL Trace, Explain Plan, Indexing, and Hints.
Strong knowledge database triggers, indexes, partitioning.
Experience in RAC Architecture, Basics of Performance Tuning
Exadata/ExaCS Added Advantage
Expertise in Oracle Exadata architecture.
Proficient in reading Query Execution Plans with the ability to evaluate and improve performance characteristics of SQL.
Manage database objects like tablespaces, users, indexes, roles, privileges, profiles and synonyms.
Familiarity with JIRA workflow processes and agile methodology.
3+ years of Logical DBA experience a plus.
Working experience with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, DBeaver, TOAD, or Oracle SQL Developer.
Experience migrating large sets of data across databases.
Good Communication skills.
Self-Motivated.
