The role of a Senior Database Administrator at BlackLine is pivotal in ensuring the optimal performance, delivery, stability, scalability, and security of the databases we operate, while consistently spearheading enhancements and optimizations at the database level. As a valued member of the database team, you will actively contribute to the strategizing, development, and upkeep of the database. This encompasses troubleshooting issues, fortifying security measures, defining and implementing new features in collaboration with other teams, optimizing existing features, and collectively striving for growth, enhanced controls, streamlined processes, and reduced complexities. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee MySQL Server Databases across various product lifecycle stages, such as development, research, and critical production systems - Configure and maintain database servers and processes to ensure high performance, availability, and security - Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in real-time, offering end-to-end problem-solving solutions independently or collaboratively - Aid development staff in optimizing complex queries to ensure the delivery of high-quality features to BlackLine's clientele - Streamline processes through automation, standardized practices, issue tracking, and change management advocacy - Design, enhance, and routinely test backup and recovery plans, including Disaster Recovery protocols - Proactively identify and address bottlenecks, issues, or opportunities, fostering change by collaborating with peers and leadership - Execute critical maintenance, deployment, and release support tasks - Participate in Proof of Concepts (POC) and contribute to the creation of key performance indicators (KPIs) for query optimization - Provide off-hours support for critical production systems Qualifications: - Minimum 6 years of MySQL Server Administration experience - Proficiency in operational automation via scripting in the Linux Environment for at least 4 years - Extensive experience working in Physical and Virtual environments for a minimum of 5 years - Strong background in high-transaction environments for a minimum of 3 years - Competence in public cloud environments like AWS/Azure/GCP - Sound knowledge of performance tuning, optimization, and native monitoring and troubleshooting tools - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills - Adaptable team player with a results-driven and value-centric approach - Ability to independently organize and plan work Preferred Qualifications: - Familiarity with SQL Server and NoSQL databases - Experience in operational automation using scripts (Bash/Python),
