Description
As a Senior Lead Database Engineer - Devops at LSEG, you will be the technical authority on database projects, providing production and development support for all LSEG BSL database applications. Your main focus will be on design, deployment, migration, automation, and operational support of Oracle and SQL Server databases hosted on the Microsoft Azure platform. Key Responsibilities: - Lead projects' priorities and outcomes. - Evaluate new database features, emerging technologies, and reference architectures. - Define company standards for infrastructure including servers, storage, networking, and VMware technologies. - Lead database technology strategies for migration, consolidation, replication, backup & recovery. - Develop and maintain database designs, patching, and security capabilities. - Assist Cybersecurity in maintaining database security policy. - Collaborate with external vendors, application teams, and business lines. - Provide guidance in Business Continuity, High Availability, and Disaster Recovery strategies. - Monitor and optimize database resources for performance. - Write and review optimized code for database infrastructure. - Mentor team members on design techniques and coding standards. - Assist Unix and Windows administrators in supporting applications. Design, Develop, Deploy, and Migrate Responsibilities: - Define standards for database deployments. - Develop data migration approaches. - Implement automation for database deployment and maintenance using DevOps tools. - Play a key role in designing and implementing database infrastructure in Azure. - Define and validate database migration plans. - Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines specific to databases. - Ensure compliance with security standards. Operations Responsibilities: - Maintain the database platform, infrastructure, code, and integrations. Qualifications Required: - Experience supporting business critical applications in a multi data center environment. - Familiarity with IaC and DevOps tools and practices. - Strong programming, automation, and DevOps skills. - Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Azure, and AWS Cloud Database. - Proficiency in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and SQL Server TSQL Scripting. In addition to the technical skills, you must possess strong behavioural skills such as persuading, influencing, problem-solving, and communication at both business and technical levels. You should be able to work independently, collaborate effectively, and demonstrate a pragmatic approach towards work.
