About Position:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Backend Developer Join a backend engineering team modernizing Java applications and migrating relational database workloads from MariaDB/MySQL to Amazon Aurora MySQL-Compatible Edition. In this role, you will strengthen application compatibility, performance, reliability, and migration readiness across the full cutover lifecycle.The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Java 17, Spring Boot, Microservices, SQL, and AWS technologies, along with hands-on experience working with relational databases and cloud migration initiatives.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain Java 17/J2EE applications using Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
  • Design, develop, and support RESTful APIs using JAX-RS (Jersey).
  • Analyze and update database connectivity layers, schemas, SQL queries, stored procedures, and application dependencies to ensure Amazon Aurora compatibility.
  • Implement robust database access and transaction management using JDBC and JPA/Hibernate.
  • Troubleshoot database-related issues and optimize database performance through query tuning and index optimization.
  • Develop and execute unit tests using TestNG and Mockito to ensure code quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and infrastructure teams throughout migration planning and execution activities.
  • Utilize AWS services such as S3 and SQS within application workflows.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes using Git-based development practices.
  • Support migration cutover activities, rollback planning, validation testing, and post-migration stabilization.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering best practices and coding standards.

Expertise You'll Bring:

  • 6-8 years of hands-on experience in Java/J2EE application development.
  • Strong expertise in Java 17, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs using JAX-RS (Jersey).
  • Strong understanding of SQL and relational database concepts including schemas, joins, indexes, query optimization, transactions, and stored procedures.
  • Hands-on experience with MariaDB, MySQL, or other enterprise relational databases.
  • Experience working with Amazon Aurora MySQL-Compatible Edition and AWS cloud services.
  • Strong knowledge of JDBC, JPA, and Hibernate frameworks.
  • Experience with TestNG, Mockito, unit testing, and integration testing frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software delivery practices.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
  • Experience supporting application modernization, database migration, or cloud transformation initiatives.
  • Good understanding of software design patterns and backend engineering best practices.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
