Senior IAM Operations Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior IAM Operations Engineer to enhance security, streamline identity lifecycle management, and improve access governance. This role will also focus modernization of Operations by leveraging AI/ML-based toolings to optimize identity analytics, support identity threat detection, and patternize recurring end-user issues by building durable operational toolings. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in IAM Operations, security automation, and AI-powered identity intelligence while ensuring compliance with security policies and industry regulations to ensure high operational SLAs are met for Uber global workforce

1. Lead the administration, monitoring, and optimization of IAM platforms, ensuring secure user access and identity governance.
2. Manage Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions.
3. Maintain and optimize IAM infrastructure, including SSO, MFA, PAM, Sailpoint IIQ and directory services (Active Directory, Azure AD, Okta, etc.).
4. Design, implement, and manage Cloud IAM solutions across AWS IAM, Azure AD, Oracle Cloud and Google Cloud IAM.
5. Develop and enhance IAM automation using PowerShell, Python, Java, and API integrations.
6. Implement AI-powered identity analytics to detect anomalies, automate risk-based access decisions, and reduce manual intervention.

8. Enforce Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) and Least Privilege Access (LPA) security models.

10. Automate user provisioning, de-provisioning, access reviews, and role management using AI/ML-based identity governance solutions.
11. Integrate IAM workflows with RPA (Robotic Process Automation) tools and AI-driven decision engines to improve efficiency.
12. Utilize AI-driven security insights to monitor, detect, and respond to identity-based threats.
13. Implement automated incident response playbooks to remediate IAM-related security incidents.
14. Work closely with IT, Security, Core Engineering, and Compliance teams to align IAM strategies with business needs.
15. Lead IAM-related projects, including AI-driven IAM modernization initiatives.
16. Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior IAM engineers and security teams.
17. Ensure compliance with SOX, GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, NIST, and ISO 27001 by integrating AI for risk-based access control and governance.
18. Optimize IAM workflows using AI-powered automation tools to enhance efficiency and security.
19. Build dashboards to track and gather metrics using Tableau, Jira, and Google Data Studio.

---- Basic Qualifications ----

1. Bachelors/Masters degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
2. 6+ years of experience in IAM operations, security administration, or automation.
3. Strong expertise in IAM platforms such as SailPoint, Okta, Microsoft Azure AD, AWS IAM, Google IAM, Oracle Cloud IAM.
4. Experience in AI-driven IAM analytics, risk-based authentication, and user behavior analytics (UBA).
5. Proficiency in automation and scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash, Java, REST APIs, Terraform).
6. Hands-on experience with AI/ML-based security tools for identity threat detection and access management.
7. Strong understanding of authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth, OIDC, LDAP, Kerberos, RADIUS).
8. Experience with SIEM, SOAR, RPA, and AI-driven IAM automation.
9. Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards and IAM security frameworks.
10. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills.
