Job Description

As a Software/Firmware Engineer at Cisco's Computing Systems Group, you will have the exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team dedicated to developing the next generation UCS Servers and products for cloud/datacentre scale deployments. Your role will involve working on the Cisco UCS Rack Server platform development activities, focusing on Software and Firmware development for Cisco UCS platforms, including the Server BMC Firmware and related tools. Key Responsibilities: - Work as a Systems and Firmware Engineer in the Platform BMC development team. - Demonstrate creativity in design and development activities. - Collaborate with Hardware Team for design, schematic review, and hardware debugging. - Engage with various teams (BIOS, Utilities, QA, Release) for BMC enhancement and development. - Contribute to defining comprehensive design in coordination with other architects/partners. - Design and develop software in an Embedded Linux (or similar) OS environment for Cisco UCS server platforms. - Understand and translate datacentre customer requirements into engineering features. - Possess expertise in Firmware, Device Driver, and Embedded/Real-time systems development. - Strong knowledge of x86 and ARM architectures. - Proficiency in C and other programming languages like Python, Rust, or Go. - Experience in Data Centre/Cloud platform engineering. - Excellent communication skills and ability to present professionally. Qualifications Required: - 8 or more years of experience in Server, Firmware, and Device Drivers of platform technologies. - BE/BTech/ME/MTech in Electronics/Computer Science preferred. - Hands-on experience in management controller firmware development (BMC) and IPMI/Redfish. - Familiarity with HW tools such as JTAG debuggers, I2C/I3C analyzers, Oscilloscopes, and flash memory programmers. - Knowledge of industry standard protocols like SPI, I3C, PCIe, NVMe, CXL, and other Interconnect/Server technologies. - Understanding and experience with DMTF standards. - Proficiency with GIT/Bitbucket.
