Senior Engineer - Process Automation (F&G)

In this role as an Automation and Control Engineer at our company, you will be responsible for developing Automation systems design deliverables in accordance with industry standards. Your key responsibilities will include: - Development of detailed design specifications, SIS Cause and Effects diagrams, user requirement qualifications, cable specifications, alarm management philosophies, instrument index development, control narratives, and I/O schedules - Reviewing vendor drawings and consolidating comments generated by other disciplines - Participating in inter-discipline reviews of deliverables from other departments - Producing material requisitions and contributing to technical bid evaluations - Providing expertise in at least one Automation Technical Area such as PLC, SCADA, Cyber Security, or Network Design - Identifying, defining, and implementing Automation and Controls requirements/solutions for clients - Supporting the Lead Engineer in accomplishing project objectives - Applying integration concepts to a wide variety of systems and across multiple vendor platforms - Engineering technical aspects of automation project design and/or implementation for assigned activities - Preparing engineering studies and software design documentation - Resolving specialty-related engineering issues by applying accepted principles, codes, and standards - Supporting program inputs and updates To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications: - A good level of experience in Automation and Control Engineering with proven demonstrable competency - Minimum BSc Degree or equivalent demonstrable experience - 10 years of relevant experience - Experience with Rockwell (Control Logix) PLC and SCADA systems is advantageous - Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition SCADA is advantageous - Experience with addressable F&G systems - Desirable experience in PLCs, specifically Rockwell, Siemens, and Open Source SCADA types - Cyber understanding with respect to control systems - Significant experience and competency in Automation and Control Engineering - Good general knowledge of each Automation and Control engineering discipline - Experienced in writing software specifications - Detailed experience with multiple system implementation projects and/or control system platforms - Experience in Brownfield upgrades/replacement automation and control projects - Thorough knowledge of engineering practices, methodologies, and economic principles - Knowledge of modern automation and control applications, tools, methodologies, or equal training/experience - Good working knowledge of current industry-specific technology and engineering software/tools - Inquisitive, well-organized, and have a keen eye for detail - Able to operate in an integrated team environment with a desire and ability to build trust and respect throughout the team - Experience in Oil and Gas industries is preferred About Us - Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
