Senior Engineer - Linux Integration

As a Qualcomm Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, creating, modifying, and validating embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and specialized utility programs. Your work will contribute to launching cutting-edge, world-class products that meet and exceed customer needs. Collaboration with systems, hardware, architecture, test engineers, and other teams will be essential as you design system-level software solutions and gather information on performance requirements and interfaces. To be considered for this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, along with 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. Alternatively, a Master's degree in the relevant field with 1+ year of experience or a PhD will be considered. Additionally, you should have at least 2 years of academic or work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, among others. Preferred qualifications include a Master's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, as well as 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. Experience with Database Management Software, API, and Source Code Management Systems like Git, Perforce, is also desirable. As a Software Engineer at Qualcomm, your responsibilities will involve applying your software knowledge and experience to design, develop, and validate software for embedded and cloud edge systems. You will analyze user needs and software requirements to customize software for optimal operational efficiency, design and implement software modules, and participate in coding, testing, debugging, and integration efforts to ensure project completion within specifications and schedules. Collaborating with project teams, performing code reviews, and writing technical documentation are integral parts of the role. In this position, you will work under supervision, and your decision-making may impact work beyond your immediate group. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as you will be required to convey information effectively. Tasks may not have defined steps, necessitating planning, problem-solving, and prioritization to complete them efficiently.
