Senior Engineer-Chassis Structures

Role Overview: You will be joining Volvo Group as a Senior Engineer for Frame rails, Cross member, Chassis Interfaces, and Chassis ladder. Your role will involve taking the lead in the design and development of various chassis components, participating in defining clear roadmaps, and working on innovative vehicle structures based on different propulsion systems. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the design and development of frame rails, cross members, chassis interfaces, and ensure timely deliveries of chassis frame assembly. - Contribute to defining clear roadmaps within responsible areas aligned with the organization's strategic interests. - Develop vehicle structures based on BEV / ICE / alternate energy propulsion systems. - Handle vehicle packaging, virtual durability verification, and physical validation needs. - Select raw materials, verify requirements, and manage surface treatment needs. - Collaborate with suppliers to co-develop product solutions and support decision-making processes. - Anticipate process steps, risks, and propose mitigation plans by working closely with project managers and cross-functional teams. - Solve quality issues, provide market support, and engineer components to meet future demand. - Create engineering documentation, drawings, technical requirements, functional specifications, and manage change effectively. Qualification Required: - BE/ME in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering or equivalent with 8-12 years of relevant work experience. - Hands-on experience in structural design, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability. - Knowledge of material standards, global supplier base development experience, virtual verification, and physical validation. - Good understanding of GD&T as applied to chassis ladder and its parts. - Proficiency in Creo and PDM software, with exposure to vehicle packaging.
