Senior Backend QA Automation Engineer

You are a highly skilled Senior Software Test Engineer with expertise in Backend, REST API Automation, Java, and DevOps tools. You will be an integral part of a dynamic engineering team in Pune, contributing to the development of robust, scalable, and high-quality cloud and web products. This role is a long-term contract position with one of the largest global technology leaders. **Key Responsibilities:** - Own and execute end-to-end backend automation for new and existing features. - Define the QA strategy and establish robust release management practices. - Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate requirements into detailed test plans. - Write clean assertions aligning with business acceptance criteria and maintain stable automation suites. - Drive automation coverage within the scrum team and implement best practices for scalable frameworks. - Identify and address flaky tests, enhance automation stability, and optimize the testing pyramid. - Collaborate closely with engineering teams in an agile, fast-paced environment. **Minimum Qualifications:** - Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a reputed institution. - 5-8 years of professional experience in Software Testing or SDET roles. - Proficient in Java, JavaScript, or Python for automation scripting. - Expertise in REST API automation frameworks like RestAssured, Karate, etc. - Familiarity with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber or JBehave. - Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter or equivalent. - Hands-on experience with Jira, Jenkins, Git, and version control workflows. - Strong understanding of automation strategy, test environments, and CI/CD pipelines. **Primary Skills:** - Backend Automation (REST API), RestAssured, Java, Cucumber, Docker, Jenkins, Load & Performance Testing **Secondary Skills:** - Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, Mockito, Python, Plunk You will be working with a large, Fortune client that is a top global technology leader, known for being one of the best companies to work for.
