Senior Backend Engineer - Data Platform

As a Senior Backend Engineer - Data Infrastructure / ETL Systems at Bandgi Technologies, your role will be crucial in designing and building scalable, high-performance systems that drive our next-generation data platform. You will primarily focus on developing robust ETL pipelines, distributed systems, and data integration services that are fundamental to our analytics and operational workflows. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design and implement high-performance distributed systems for data extraction, transformation, and ingestion. - Build scalable and fault-tolerant systems capable of handling large data volumes and high throughput. - Integrate various internal and external systems, including databases, APIs, and cloud services, to facilitate seamless data exchange and support business processes. - Develop and enhance end-to-end components for our new ETL Service, including building tooling for observability, performance, and reliability of backend data systems. - Emphasize performance, architecture, clean design, and clean code principles in your work. **Qualifications Required:** - Backend engineer with at least 5 years of experience in building and enhancing data pipelines or ETL services. - Strong background in designing and implementing distributed systems, particularly in a data-intensive setting. - Proficiency in constructing and maintaining event buses, message queues, and APIs within a distributed system environment. - Excellent programming skills in languages like Python, Go, etc., coupled with ETL pipeline experience. - Deep knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles. - Effective communication and collaboration abilities. In addition, experience with tools such as Airflow, Prefect, Dagster, or similar, usage of Kinesis or Kafka, and familiarity with AWS resources like AWS GLUE, Postgres, Redshift, etc., would be considered advantageous for this role.,
