Senior Azure Data Engineer

Role Overview:

Responsibilities & Core Skills:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure data pipelines on Azure
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT workflows using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and SSIS
• Work extensively with SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Synapse SQL for complex querying and performance tuning
• Develop and optimize big data processing solutions using Databricks and PySpark Architect and manage data solutions using Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Lakehouse, and Datamesh concepts
• Implement solutions using Synapse Analytics and Microsoft Fabric
• Develop data processing logic using Python or similar programming languages
• Apply serverless and event-driven data architecture patterns where applicable
• Ensure data quality, security, governance, and best practices across platforms
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Use Azure DevOps, Git, and Jira for source control, sprint tracking, and delivery Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code practices (Terraform knowledge is a plus)
• Mentor junior data engineers and participate in technical reviews

Additional / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, or Stream Analytics
• Exposure to NoSQL databases such as Azure Cosmos DB
• Power BI development or strong understanding of analytical data models

Eligibility

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Azure Data Engineering
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and system design skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment
