Position OverviewThe Accountant - Import/Export Document Handler will be responsible for managing and maintaining financial records related to import and export transactions. The role involves preparing, organizing, and ensuring compliance with international trade documentation, managing accounting for goods and services, and coordinating with logistics teams, suppliers, and clients. Key ResponsibilitiesDocumentation Management: Review and process import/export documents such as invoices, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and customs declarations. Ensure timely submission of documents for customs clearance and compliance with international trade regulations. Handle the preparation and verification of shipping, payment, and duty documents in line with company policies and regulatory requirements. Accounting and Financial Reporting: Maintain accurate accounting records for imports and exports, including tracking of purchases, sales, inventory, and payments. Process financial transactions related to international trade, including accounts payable/receivable, duties, taxes, and other fees. Reconcile supplier invoices with purchase orders, and ensure the accuracy of billing and payments. Generate monthly financial reports and forecasts for import/export activities. Customs Compliance: Ensure all imported/exported goods comply with local customs regulations, tariffs, and duty structures. Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other third-party vendors to ensure proper documentation and clearance. Inventory Management: Track inventory levels for imported/exported goods and ensure proper documentation of all stock movements. Work with warehouse teams to maintain accurate inventory records and address any discrepancies. Communication & Coordination: Coordinate with internal teams, including logistics, sales, and purchasing, to ensure smooth import/export operations. Provide timely updates to management regarding the status of international transactions
