Role: DGM/GM- Corporate Communications (M2/M3 grade) Purpose and Scope: To lead strategic communications for the India Market (Renewables/Hydrogen Business). This role is pivotal in shaping and maintaining Sembcorp’s visibility, driving awareness of sustainability and energy transition initiatives and strengthening relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The candidate will provide strategic leadership in aligning communication initiatives with business objectives, ensuring a cohesive approach to brand positioning, stakeholder engagement and messaging. Key Roles and Responsibilities: Develop and implement an integrated corporate communications strategy to enhance Sembcorp’s brand image and position the business as a leader in the renewable energy and hydrogen sector. Ensure the consistent application of Sembcorp’s brand identity across communication materials and assets. Craft compelling press releases, media briefs and articles and other content highlighting initiatives and achievements in renewable and hydrogen space. Prepare senior management for panel sessions, media interviews and public speaking engagements, including drafting talking points and preparing briefing books. Coordinate with the Group Corporate Communications & Investor Relations (GCCIR) team on regulatory/ media releases, and crisis communications to ensure aligned messaging. Oversee content creation for digital platforms, including the corporate website and provide necessary support for group social media channel. Manage media relations to ensure positive coverage in mainstream and industry-specific outlets. Lead stakeholder engagement with key entities including government bodies, industry associations, and NGOs. Develop and execute internal communication strategies to engage and inform employees effectively. Support marketing initiatives through integrated communication strategies. Collaborate with HR to support employer branding and enhance employee advocacy. Work Relations: Internal Relations o Collaborate with Business Heads, GCCIR, HR and sustainability teams. o Report to GCCIR and Chairman South Asia. External Relations o Liaise with media, agencies, government bodies and industry associations in the power and renewable energy sector. o Support senior leadership’s engagement with key stakeholders in the renewables and hydrogen industries. Qualification, Skills and Experience: Bachelor’s/master’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related fields. 15+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, with at least 5 years in the renewable energy sector preferred. Proven track record in managing large-scale communication campaigns, media relations, and digital communication strategies. Strong understanding of the renewable energy and hydrogen industry landscape in India and globally. Demonstrated ability to craft key messages that align with the Group’s overarching narrative.
